The PLUS Difference

Structured Support, Flexible Learning, Connected Community

What is our Thursday program?

  • Structured Learning

LTL Plus provides a well-rounded curriculum in History, Science, and Literature/Composition, giving families a structured yet flexible foundation for homeschooling. Weekly in-person instruction, guided lesson plans, and a clear academic path help keep students on track while allowing parents to customize learning at home.

  • Parent Partnership

We believe parents are the primary educators, and LTL Plus is here to support you! Our quarterly parent meetings offer check-ins on student progress, guidance from experienced educators, and opportunities to refine the program to best serve your family’s needs.

  • Drop Off Flexibility

Designed to provide flexibility for homeschooling families, LTL Plus offers a weekly drop-off program where students engage in interactive, teacher-led lessons in a small-group setting. Parents can use this time for planning, errands, or personal enrichment while their children learn in a structured and faith-based environment.

  • Customized Learning Paths

At LTL Plus, parents can easily choose from three learning levels within each age group (7-11 and 12-14) to ensure a good balance of challenge and support for their child. We’re here to guide parents in selecting the right level, and the easy-to-follow guide includes helpful tips for customizing the learning experience at home, creating a smooth and personalized journey for each child.

  • Engaging Community

LTL Plus fosters a supportive learning environment where students connect with peers, engage in interactive lessons, and grow together in a faith-based setting. Small class sizes allow for meaningful discussions, hands-on activities, and a sense of belonging, enriching both academic and social development.

  • Special Needs Friendly

LTL Plus is committed to being an inclusive and supportive environment for all learners. With sensory-friendly classrooms, accommodation options, and a dedicated special needs coordinator, we strive to ensure every student feels welcome, valued, and set up for success.

 FAQs

  • At Learn Together Lowcountry Plus, we strive to guide you on your homeschooling journey with our educational support program. The program includes a History, Science, and Literature/Composition curriculum for a year of homeschooling, quarterly parent meetings to “check in" and assess progress, and lesson plans to follow outside classroom instruction. 8th-12th grade enjoy math options this year and the lower school students may add fitness.

  • While LTL Plus builds on the LTL program, Plus days will have a slightly different structure, as they are primarily drop-off days. Parents must volunteer for two weeks of the 17-week semester. To help ensure a smooth experience, we encourage parents to support classroom management by reviewing class etiquette with their children before drop-off.

  • We will meet at Grace Coastal Church, 15 Williams Dr. Okatie, SC, on Thursdays from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Drop-off may begin no earlier than 8:45 am, and pick-up may not occur later than 1 pm.

  • Unlike Friday LTL days, LTL Plus is only partially an à la carte program; each student participates in all three subjects of science, history, and English (high school includes math). Families may add-on fitness for grades 2nd-7th and add math for 8th grade. Math can also be taken al la carte if a student doesn’t take the regular program. Classrooms are grouped into three age levels spanning ages 7-9, 10-11, and 12-14. If your child falls between levels, we’re happy to help determine the best fit.

  • Yes! Parents will begin dropping off at 8:45 am (the morning devotional is at 9 am) and may start lining up for afternoon pickup at 12:45 pm

  • LTL Plus is an educational support program; we are here to support YOU, the parent and primary teacher. While our teachers will provide lesson plans and once-a-week class instruction, it is your responsibility to work through the weekly assignments and report progress to your homeschool association. We will also require quarterly meetings with your child's teachers to ensure satisfaction and success with the program. Each subject will require one assignment to be tuned in weekly to help us best support your family. Parents must volunteer on campus for two weeks of the 17-week semester.

  • Yes. As this is a second beta testing year, we will use these meetings to make adjustments and improvements to the program. We will do everything possible to schedule them conveniently for everyone. We are also available for meetings outside of the scheduled ones, per request.

  • At LTL Plus, our staff is encouraged to integrate biblical concepts & scripture into their classes in ways that feel natural to them personally. For some, this might include referencing biblical principles, while for others, it’s reflected in how they model kindness, patience, and respect in their actions and responses. While our program is Christian-based, we strive to ensure all students feel welcome and valued, regardless of their personal beliefs. We see this as part of living out biblical principles of love and hospitality, which are central to our faith-based mission & ministry.

  • LTL Plus tuition is all-inclusive. The cost of the program covers the history, science, and lit./composition curriculum (and math for high schoolers), teacher payments, supplies for the year, and administration costs. While the program provides everything needed for regular lesson plans, advanced students who require additional challenges may need extra supplies.

  • At LTL Plus, we are special needs friendly and will make accommodations within our capabilities to support students in the classroom. Sensory bags are available in all classrooms for those who need them. While we are unable to provide 1:1 aides, we welcome parent-provided aides on campus. All aides must complete a background check through LTL Plus before the start of classes. The cost for this is $35.

If you’re unsure what accommodations your child may need, we’re here to help. Our special needs coordinator is available by appointment on Fridays between 9:30am and 2:30pm to discuss options and provide recommendations.
