LTL Code of Conduct

Excellence

Bring an attitude devoted to learning and excellence.

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  Colossians 3:23

Truth, wisdom, learning, and good sense - these are worth paying for, but too valuable for you to sell. Proverbs 23:23

To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. Proverbs 12:1

So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. 2 Corinthians 5:9

Honor

Respect others, yourself, and property.

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves. Romans 12:10

We beg you, our friends, to pay proper respect to those who work among you, who guide and instruct you in the Christian life. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

Presentation

Adhere to the dress code.

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life - and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Romans 12:1

Don't you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you. You have received him from God. You do not belong to yourselves. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Kindness

Encourage one another. Do not allow your words to be judgmental.

So encourage each other and build each other up. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

The one who guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself out of trouble. Proverbs 21:23

Deference

Respect your teachers, parents, and mentors.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. Hebrews 13:17

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1-4

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone, when he is fully trained, will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40

Civility

Honor class time with respectful behavior.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Duty

Adhere to the rules and regulations.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:5

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.  Matthew 7:12

As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. 2 John 1:6
